PURPOSE:To provide a piezoelectric material of good properties, by substituting a portion of the Pb of a binary substance, which is represented as PbTiO3-Pb (Me1/3Sb2/3)O3 where Me denotes Zn, Sn or the like, with Sr and adding a small quantity of MnO, NiO, Fe2O3 or the like to the substance. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric oxide material is made of a basic binary substance represented as (1-x)PbTiO3-xPb(Me1/3Sb2/3)O3 where Me denotes one of Zn and Sn and (x) is limited within a range from 0.01-0.15. 1.0-20atom% of the Pb of the substance is substituted with Sr. 0.05-2.0wt% of at least one of MnO, NiO and Fe2O3 is added as an accessory constituent to the substance. As a result, the Curie point of the material is heightened, the material can also serve at 300 deg.C or more and is made appropriate to be used in a high-frequency region of several MHz or more and the polarization of the material is facilitated.
