Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-performance piezoelectric material by replacing a portion of Pb in PbTiO3-Pb(Me1/2W1/2)O3 (where Me is Mn or Zn) with Sr and adding one of MnO, NiO, and Fe2O3 if required. CONSTITUTION:In (1-x)PbTiO3-xPb(Me1/2W1/2)O3, Mn or Zn is used in Me, and the composition is adjusted such that 0.01<x<0.2. In the case x<0.01, the sintering property is poor. In the case x>0.2, the curie temperature is decreased below 400 deg.C, and the stablized utilization at the temperature exceeding 300 deg.C cannot be made. The utilization in the high-frequency region over the permittivity of 250 is not suitable. Then, Pb is replaced with Sr of 0.5-20 atomic %, the piezoelectric material can be readily polarized and sintered, and the utilization at the high temperatures becomes possible. Furthermore, if one of MnO, NiO and Fe2O3 of 0.05- 2wt% is added, the temperature characteristics, the time duration characteristics, and the mechnical quality factor of the PbTiO series ceramics are improved, and the large sontered bodies can be readily manufactured.
