Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve high pulse permeability and large magnetic-flux-density variation which are required for an iron core material for pulse tranformers by independently adding vanadium pentaoxide V2O5 in an Mn-Zn series oxide magnetic material having a specified basic compositions. CONSTITUTION:Vanadium pentaoxide V2O5 of 0.03-0.40wt% is added to an Mn- Zn series oxide magnetic material whose basic compositions are magnanese oxide MnO of 18-33mol%, zinc oxide ZnO of 15-25mol%, and iron sesquioxide Fe2O3 for the remaining portion. Then, the product is carshed into fine pieces, and formed by adding suitable binder. The formed ferrite is sintered in the specified method to obtain an iron-core material for the pulse transformer. With vanadium pentaoxide V2O5, oxidation at the sintering is avoided, the value of Q becomes large, high pulse permeability and large magnetic-flux-density variation which are required for pulse transformers are improved, and the pulse transformers having a desired rating are made compact and light-weight.
