Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the accuracy of decision by securing a simultaneous detection of both the primary and secondary vibration components of the specific frequency due to the knocking out of the vibration of the engine main body and then deciding the knocking intensity from the ratio between the secondary and primary vibration components.
CONSTITUTION: The output of sensor 1 is extracted through high-pass filter 2; and the primary component output is extracted through low-pass filter 3 for the secondary vibration component output of the knocking to be compared with the background noise level signal sent from smoothing parts 4 and 5 each through comparing parts 6 and 7. In case the former output signal is larger than the latter one, the pulse signal sends the pulse to arithmetic part 10 through frequency detection parts 8 and 9 and when the value of integration exceeds the reference level. Part 10 carries out an ignition with lag angle and with 2 units or 1 unit via driving part 11 and according to the simultaneous supply of both the secondary and primary pulses or the supply of only the primary pulse. On the other hand, the ignition is given with angle advanced by a fixed extent in case no pulse is detected at all. In this way, the accuracy of decision can be increased, at the same time securing a proper moment of ignition.
