Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the responsiveness in a simple structure by specifying the methods for forming and outputting the knocking identification signal.
CONSTITUTION: The knocking sensor 1 which is connected to an ignition time control part 2 is constituted by a vibration sensor 11, a sensor processing circuit 100, a smoothing circuit 200, a comparating circuit 300, an integrating circuit 400, a knocking identification circuit 500, and a reset circuit 600. The signal in the knocking frequency region from the vibration sensor 11, which converts the vibrating components of noises, pressure, and the like of the engine into the electric signal, is compared with the smooth level signal which is obtained by rectifying and smoothing the signal from the vibration sensor 11. The compared output signal are integrated. The integrated signal is compared with the reference level and the knocking identification signal is outputted. At every specified crank angle and at every time the knocking identification signal is outputted, the integrated signal is reset, and the knocking identification signal is further outputted at a frequency corresponding to the knocking strength.
