Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain an amorphous magnetic element having high magnetic permeability and preferable stability by heat treating the element under suitable control of treating temperature and cooling velocity. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous magnetic element having crystallizing temperature TX higher than curie point TC is retained at treating temperature TA for satisfying TC<TA<TX condition within a time range that no crystallization occur for predetermined time. This heat treatment removes the thermal strain occurred in the amorphous magnetic element immediately after fabrication. Then, the element is gradually cooled at a cooling velocity slower than 5 deg.C/min, which is indispensable heat treating step for reducing the ageing change of the magnetic permeability thereof. Then, when the element is heated to the curie point TC, the element is cooled at a cooling velocity faster than the cooling velocity alpha defined by the formula (I) at the temperature T, which is indispensable heat treating step for obtaining high magnetic permeability but cannot obtain high magnetic permeability at gradual cooling velocity.
