Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a semipermanent electrostatic printing image by one time imagewise exposure, by subjecting a photosensitive plate with an original colored pattern formed in its color developing layer to charging and uniform exposure to form an electrostatic latent image, developing, and transferring it.
CONSTITUTION: Color developing layer 2 consisting of leuco type triphenylmethane and a substance releasing a radical on light irradiation and allowing said compound to color, and charge transfer layer 3 for transmitting charge produced by layer 2 are laminated on conductive substrate 1 to provide a photosensitive plate. This is exposed to ultraviolet rays from light source 5 through original O to form a colored pattern corresponding to original O in color developing layer 2. Then, said plate undergoes corona charging, and white uniform exposure to form a static latent image, this latent image is developed and the developed visible image is transferred, and after that, these last 2 steps are repeated to obtain a plurality of copies. When said static latent image drops in potential, it is recovered by performing corona charging and uniform exposure.
