Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform signal recording in vertical magnetization mode by constituting a main magnetic pole by forming a magnetic film of high magnetic permeability hermetically on the 1st nonmagnetic substrate and then by sticking and fixing the 2nd nonmagnetic substrate with this magnetic film interposed. CONSTITUTION:On surface 1a of the 1st nonmagnetic substrate 1, magnetic film 2 of high magnetic permeability is hermetically formed and the 2nd nonmagnetic substrate holder 4 is stuck to magnetic film 2 by adhesive 3. This is cut to a fixed size to round its tape slide surface. Consequently, the downstream side edge of the main electrode of magnetic film 2 of high magnetic permeability becomes sharp and the upstream side edge becomes rough. In this structure, stress applied to magnetic film 2 through the run of a tape directed toward the 1st substrate 1 and the position of downstream edge is regulated on the joint surface of substrate 1, so that linearity can sufficiently be secured. Therefore, the distortion of the downstream side edge is not entailed and short-wave characteristics in recording never deteriorate.
