Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively prevent a braking distance from being extended, by exhaust ing the pressure in a control air chamber of a relay valve, in a solenoid direct through brake device with a combined use of automatic air brake, in accordance with an abnormal drop of speed of the wheel at a braking operation.
CONSTITUTION: A solenoid direct through brake device is operated in such a manner as to selectively give the pressure of air given from a direct through air pipe 1 or air pipe 2, connected to a control valve in an automatic air brake, to a relay valve 4 by a compound control valve 3, causing the pressure in a master air reservoir MR to be transmitted to a brake cylinder BC. Here a solenoid selector valve MV1, for selectively communicating a chamber (a) in the relay valve 4 to the compound check valve 3 and the atmospheric air, and a valve MV2, for selectively linking a chamber (b) to the air pipe 2 and the connection pipe for valves MV3, 4 in the pressure regulating system, are provided. While valves MV5, 6 are interposed between the valve MV1 and the valve 3, and the line between the valves MV5, 6 is connected to an inlet pipe line of the valve MV1 through a throttle valve CV. Then each of the valves MV is appropriately controlled in accordance with speeds of a wheel and vehicle.
