Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the analog-digital conversion unit less in the number of comparators and switches, simple in the constitution, and highly accurate, by using a plurality of section comparators and stage comparators. CONSTITUTION:The voltage dividers 310-340 of 2<i> sets are connected in series, connected to the reference voltage VR, and each connection point is connected to the section comparators 361-365. The comparators compare the potential at the divider connection point and the analog input voltage Vin, and the output is converted into the digital signal 410 in i bits with the 1st position detecting circuit 370 and the 1st code conversion circuit 380. The output of the position detector 370 closes one output switch group 351-354 of the voltage divider 310-340. The output of 2<j> sets of the switch group is given to the stage comparators 366-369 and compared with the input voltage Vin. The result of comparison is converted into the digital signal 420 in j bits at the 2nd position detector 390 and the 2nd code conversion circuit 400.
