Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve photodetection efficiency by forming a curved surface mirror, which has one focal point at the center of curvature, on an elliptic reflective surface in a focusing block that has the elliptic reflective surface of a transparent body and photodetects light, emitted from one focus, at the other focus. CONSTITUTION:An elliptic pole is formed of a transparent body and the 1st reflector 13 is formed on its elliptic pole surface 13a to constitute focusing block 4. Once smoke enters smoke sensitive area 10, primary light emitted from light emitted by light emission element 5 scatters in any direction and light scattering at right angles to focal axis 14 is all photodetected. However, part of scattering light C1, after being reflected by elliptic pole surface 13a, strikes cylinder hole 15 in smoke sensitive area 10 in process of advancing to the other focal axis 19 and is refracted by its boundary surface, so that light C2 will never focus on the other focal axis 19.
