PURPOSE:To obtain a rotary motion by a mechanism wherein magnets, whose magnetic polarities differ each other, are laminated to each of a rotor and a stator in the axial direction, while the rotor is moved in the axial direction, and the repulsive force of the magnetic polarities is utilized. CONSTITUTION:A stator is formed in such a manner that magnets 2 are laminated and arranged to an inner surface of a housing 1 so that positive and negative magnetic polarities are alternated in the axial direction. The magnets 2 are disposed in positions symmetrical to a shaft, and the corresponding magnetic polarities are made differ each other. Magnets 5 are laminated and arranged at symmetrical locations on the surface of a rotor 3 in the same manner as the magnets 2 in order that positive and negative magnet polarities are akternatively arranged in the axial direction, and the corresponding magnetic polarities are made differ each other. Air is injected into a port 17 to work a piston 14, and the rotor 3 is moved only by a thickness distance of one magnet in the axial direction. The opposing magnetic polarities at the stator and rotor sides agree at that time, and the rotor is turned by the repulsive force. When the rotor and the driving shaft 8 are loose-fitted and connected by means of a pin 9 and a groove 10, a rotary motion can be obtained by means of the driving shaft.
