Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the crosstalk and increase the high-density recording performance, by providing the magnetic thin film near the both sides of the magnetic gap of the thin-film head made of the magnetic metal film. CONSTITUTION:Permalloy film 2 is ion-plated onto ceramic substrate 1 to obtain lower magnetic layer 2. Simultaneously with formation of layer 2, magnetic shielding permalloy film 9 is formed at both sides of the permalloy film at the area where magnetic gap 6 is formed with minute space 8 (2-3mu) secured. The mask covers over film 9, and SiO2 film 5 for magnetic gap is formed on winding 3. Then permalloy film 10 is laminated on film 9 simultaneously with formation of the permalloy film of upper magnetic layer 4. Substrate 1 is then diced to cut out thin-film core 11 individually. Cover glass 12 is melt-stuck to core 11 for reinforcement, and then the core is stuck to slider 13 by glass 14. Then gap surface 15 is finished by lapping to form gap depth 16. Thus a magnetic head is completed. As a result, magnetic flux 20 is absorbed into film 9 from adjacent track 19 in case track information 18 is read out, thus preventing the crosstalk.
