Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to check functions of a circuit as well as picture quality over a direct look at a picture signal by reproducing a facsimile signal from a digital signal and then by displaying it on a display. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile signal is demodulated by demodulating circuit 9, whose output is passed through sampling circuit 10, quantizing circuit 11 and coding circuit 12; and outputs of respective circuits are led to input interface circuit 2 of monitor unit 1 and from a signal in process of a test, a reproduced signal is reproduced, so that it can be displayed on display unit 6. Namely, the coded digital signal is decoded by decoder 3 and supplied to line memory 4 from circuit 2. Picture signals of every line are temporarily stored and then stored in picture signal storage memory 5 under the control of memory control circuit 7. Through the control of circuit 7, the contents of memory 5 are displayed on unit 6. Therefore, a circuit-by-circuit check on functions can be made as well as a facsimile signal.
