Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a binary coding system adapted to pattern check, by performing the binary coded processing for a noticed picture element plural times when the binary signal of the noticed picture element and a binary element for no defect of a pattern to be checked are different from each other. CONSTITUTION:The video signal from an image pickup device 1 is inputted to a binary coding circuit 3. The output of the circuit 3 is latched in a latch 4. The output of the latch 4 is compared with the output of a memory 7, where a standard pattern for no defect of a pattern to be checked is stored, by an exclusive OR gate 8. When the binary coded output and the standard pattern coincide with each other, the gate 8 issues the output, and this output is sent to a selecting circuit 9, and the circuit 9 selects the output of the memory 7. Meanwhile, when the binary coding output and the standard pattern do not coincide with each other, the output of the circuit 3 is inputted to a counter 13, and the output of the counter 13 is inputted to a comparison circuit 14 and is compared with a set value (n). As the result, a latch 16 outputs the output of the memory 7 in case of coincidence between the binary coded output and the standard pattern and outputs the output of the circuit 14, where comparison is performed n-number times, otherwise.
