Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize the welding equipment, simplify its controlling and lower its cost by holding the weaver on a welding carriage at a preset angle with respect to a horizontal plane, weaving the welding torch cooperatively with the weaver and holding the angle that it assumes with respect to the carriage constant. CONSTITUTION:When a carraige 3 turns counterclockwise along a rail 2, a weaver 5 is rotated clockwise by the rotation transmitting mechanism by the revolution of a motor 19 for changing weaver angle, and is held always in the preset direction by beforehand setting the installation angle theta2 of a sensor S by bolts 43, 44. At the same time, a torch 4 is rotated counterclockwise by a torch rotation transmitting mechanism through the clockwise rotation of the weaver 5 and therefore the position of the torch 4 becomes always constant with respect to the carriage 3. Hence, only required is to set the torch holding mechanism in such a manner that the wire end 4a positions at the set point having beforehand been determined from welding conditions.
