PURPOSE:To correct the position of an electrode without changing the arc position by detecting the inclination of the electrode and turning the electrode in the width direction of a groove with the leading end of a wire as a turning center. CONSTITUTION:When a nozzle 3 tilts and biases to one side of the groove of base metals, the member mounted with an angle detector 11 tilts similarly and the detector 11 detects the inclination. It feeds a detection signal to an angle adjusting motor 122, then the motor 122 revolves by the prescribed number of revolutions in the specified direction. As a result, a pinion 123 rotates an oscillating head 2 integral with a sliding block 124 by the prescribed angle around a central point RC by the revolution of the motor 122. This puts the attitude of the nozzle 3 in the state nearly vertical to the width direction of the groove without moving the arc position.
