Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible the submerged arc welding of the welding works formed with the welding groove part of a sharp inclination by suitably changing the set conditions of a welding wire in correspondence to the inclination of the welding groove part formed to the welding works.
CONSTITUTION: When the angle θ that the segment 14 parallel to the surface of the welding works 11a, 11b and rectangular to the weld line of the welding works 11a, 11b and horizontal plane 15 assume is within a range from 0 to 90°, the distance Δ between the end of a welding wire 17 and a symmetrical axis 13 is suitably selected within the range from 0 up to 2/3 the diameter of the welding wire 17 in correspondence to the amount of θ on the lower welding work 11a side.
