Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the transient time of a polarizing mirror by providing secondary characteristic to the polarizing characteristics including the driving circuit of a polarizing device, driving the same by the signal corresponding to the movement of the mirror during the effective period of the movement of the polarizing mirror and driving the same by the signal comprising the two high and low levels during the transient period of the mirror.
CONSTITUTION: The polarizing device consists of a signal generating circuit 1, a driving circuit 2 and a galvanomirror 3. The deflecting characteristic of the galvanomirror 3 becomes tertiary because the inductance of its driving coil cannot be neglected but it is possible to make it secondary including the drive circuit. Namely, in said circuit, the current flowing in the driving coil is detected; its differential signal is fed back to the input and the counter electromotive force by the inductance of the driving coil is negated to make the characteritic secondary. At the maximum point t0 of saw-tooth-shaped deflection 10, the minimum level signal of the driving circuit 2 is applied to return the mirror in the direction of an inclined part 10. At the point t1 slightly before this, the maximum level signal is applied and this signal is changed over to the lamp signal at the point t2 at the speed of the inclined part 10 of the mirror. Thereby, the transient time may be shortened.
