Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the reliability of a cathode-ray tube reproduced by suppressing the discharge of gas from old getter film to a minimum by using carbon dioxide gas. CONSTITUTION:The dry CO2 of the liquefied carbon dioxide bomb 1 is passed through the water 2 to convert it into wet CO2. Then, the wet CO2 is sent into the bulb 3 allowed to stand for about one hour after the completion of vacuum leak, where the bulb 3 is arranged by turning its neck 3a upwards. Then, the wet CO2 inside the bulb 3 is dischargd by turning the neck 3a downwards, and then a stem fitted with an electron gun assembly is sealed up in the neck 3a. Then, the bulb 3 is evacuated and then subjected to usual processes to complete a cathode-ray tube.
