Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the production cost of an assembly jig and to aim at reduc ing the storage space for the jig, by enabling several kinds of part attaching members to be mounted on a jig body so that the body may be commonly used with different kinds of part attaching members.
CONSTITUTION: A platen stacker 5 successively feeds out, at predetermined intervals, part attaching members 2 in accordance with the kind of articles to be produced, onto a feed-out conveyer 7 in a conveying section under instructions from a control section, and are set on a jig body 1 arranged on the conveyer, by means of a jig delivery device 11 so that an assembly jig 3 is formed. Then, the assembly jig 3 is conveyed by the feed-out conveyer 7 to automatic assembly robots (a) through (h), respectively in the mentioned order, that is, the assembly jig 3 is held being stopped and is located by means of a stopper means at a predetermined position on each robot. In this phase, a given part is delivered to each robot from the associated standby station, and is installed at a predetermined position on the assembly jig after being shifted onto the conveyer 7. Thus, it is possible to reduce the bulk of the jig body for the part assembly members, thereby it is possible to reduce the cost of the assembly jig.
