Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a favorable function of reducing the rolling by a method wherein the function of an antirolling tank is stopped in the condition where the acceleration of the airflow in an air duct is close to zero, when the average value other rolling period of a ship equipped with the antirolling tank has exceeded predetermined limits.
CONSTITUTION: The rolling of a ship is measured, the average rolling period TW is determined and compared with reference values T1, T2. When T1≤TW≤T2, an opening-closing mechanism 4 for the antirolling tank is opened. When TW<T1 or TW>T2, a measurement start signal is given to an ariflow meter to measure the airflow in the air duct 3, and the measured value α is compared with reference values α1, α2. When α1≤α≤α2, a valve closing signal cause to the opening-closing mechanism 4 to close, whereby water is evenly distributed to wing tanks 1, 1a on the port side and starboard side, respectively, so that a static lateral inclining moment is prevented from generating.
