Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure fuel consumption per unit time with high accuracy, by detecting the average value of the voltage impressed to a solenoid coil.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel carried under pressure from fuel pump 6 is supplied to internal combustion engine 1 at a rate proportional to the opening of valve 7. Solenoid coil 8 is provided for controlling the opening of valve 7, and current supplied to solenoid coil 8 is controlled by controller 9. On the other hand, voltmeter 12 indicates an average value of the voltage impressed to solenoid coil 8. That is, the voltmeter 12 gives an indication proportional to the amount of fuel supplied to engine 1, so that fuel consumption of engine 1 per unit time can be measured with high accuracy.
