Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure an easy decision for the acceleration feeling of an engine, by measuring the time during which the rotational frequency of engine is increased up to the prescribed level after filling the warmed cooling water into the cold engine and then opening the throttle valve to a prescribed opening amount.
CONSTITUTION: The engine 2 is carried into the test device 3 and fixed with the holding tool 51. Then the engine 2 is started to secure an idling rotation, and a prescribed opening amount is secured for the throttle valve via the throttle valve control unit 60. Thus the time t1 is measured during which the rotational frequency reaches 3,000rpm from 1,000rpm, and the throttle valve is set to the idling opening amount with the signal supplied from the rotational frequency measuring device when the rotational frequency exceeds 3,000rpm. The time t2 is measured during which the rotational frequency changes from 3,000rpm to 1,000rpm. Furthermore, the time t3 is measured during which the engine stops from the idling state. According to these measured values t1, t2 and t3, whether the accelerated feeling, the retard feeling or the run-on exists for the engine exists or not is decided and confirmed.
