Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the airflow stream with a limited housing space by pivoting the rear of the wind deflector at the tip of the sun roof lift arm in such a manner as to be free to rotate over the specified angle range while the deflector is retained on the roof panel.
CONSTITUTION: While the roof panel 6 is closed, the deflector 20 is charged outward with the torsion bar 22 until the end thereof is retained on the bulged section 25, whereby the angle of rotation thereof is controlled to the roughly horizontal state. When the panel 6 is opened from the state, the lift arm 18 is released in sequence and turned clockwise on the pivot shaft 18a by the force of the plate spring 19. The turning of the lift arm is checked with the weather strip rubber 27 contacting the back 1a of the panel 1. The weather strip rubber 27 is retained sliding against the back 1a of the roof panel. Said mechanism provides a large projection with a limited overall length of the deflector 20 thereby reducing the housing space.
