Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration with ageing of magnetic characteristics of the ferromagnetic metl iron corpuscle for magnetic storage by a method wherein a reduced magnetic iron powder is modified with an organic compound containing Si. CONSTITUTION:The ferromagnetic alpha-Fe having a minute particle-shape and containing at least one of Al, Si, P as a subsidiary component is modified chemically with the organic compound contang Si being the general formula thereof shown with the formula I, for example a kind of silicon oil or a kind of carbon funcitonal silicon wherein the R is hydrogen or an organic radical of methlyl radical, etc. Accordingly deterioration with ageing of magnetic characteristics originated from proceeding oxidizing reaction to be caused by oxygen can be prevented, and highly stable economization can be realized.
