Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress the temperature rise at operation, by improving the heat dissipation from the head, by coating the material excellent in heat conduction on the substrate supporting the thin film coil, in the magnetic head consisting of the thin film for the coil. CONSTITUTION:A part of the thin film coil 4 provided on the magnetic board 1 is vapor-deposited for the insulation layer 5, the gap G consisting of nonmagnetic insulation substance is provided, and the upper magnetic substance 3 is coated to form the magnetic head. Next, at the near side of the head base 1, the mixture of metals (gold, silver and platinum, etc.) and glass is baked to form the heat conduction layer 2, and the said base 1 is bonded with the heat dissipation base 7 with the low melting point alloy 6 via the heat conduction layer 2. Further, as the said heat dissipation base 7, the base providing the cooling chamber 9 internally using the coolant 11 such as from and providing the heat dissipation fin 10 externally is used to further improve the heat dissipation effect.
