Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect an error due to a dropout of a signal, an error of a synchronizing signal, and fluctuations of a readout clock, by detecting an error without increasing redundancy and by combining with another detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A PCM reproduced waveform (a) is applied to a separating and shaping circuit 1 and while an output signal (b) is supplied to a reading circuit 3, a synchronously separated signal (g) is supplied to a clock generating circuit 2. With a clock from the circuit 2, phase control for the circuit 3 is exercised and data is read out to a terminal T2. The output (d) of a pulse generating circuit 4 for obtaining a constant-width pulse at the inversion position of the signal (b) is applied to an AND circuit 6 and the output (c) of the circuit 2 is delayed 5 and applied to the circuit 6 to obtain an error (f) at a terminal T3. As a resul, error detection is performed without increasing redundancy while data corrections of NRZ, FM, MFM, etc., are not made.
