Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a high recording density magnetic recorder-reproducer of good SN ration and high reliability by compressing the band width of reproduction system and minimizing the jitter of clocks.
CONSTITUTION: The apparatus has a first code translator 1 which converts the groups comprising dividing binary code series by each (m) bits to binary codes of (n) bits including 1 and a second code translator 2 which converts the converted series to binary code series having correlations by the rule of a module 2 on the write side and has a waveform converting filter 8 of magnetic head output signals, a circuit 9 detecting the envelope and a level setting circuit 10 outputting slice level with said outputs, a level slice circuit 11 slicing the output of the filter 8, circuits 12 thru 15 reproducing clocks from the magnetic head output signals, a circuit reproducing binary code series from the output of the level slice circuit 11 and a circuit reproducing the original binary code series on the read side.
