Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction and to reproduce with high accuracy, by setting an optical recording medium and synchronizing information to an encoded pattern which is longer than an encoded pattern of recording information. CONSTITUTION:Encoded recording information and synchronizing information are recoded in an optical recording medium, and also the synchronizing information is set longer than a pattern of the recording information. Subsequently, a converting signal f2 is fetched from an amplifier 1 containing a pickup, a variation portion pulse signal f4 is obtained by detecting a variation portion of the converting signal f2 corresponding to the leading edge part and the trailing edge part of recording and synchronizing information patterns, by a variation portion detector 2, an interval of said pulses is discriminated by a discriminator 3 having a constant time threshold level, a position pulse signal f6 is obtained from a descriminating pulse singal, and in accordance with its signal, the recording information, the synchronizing information and a clock signal are reproduced. Accordingly, a malfunction is reduced by erasing an error pulse, and reproducing is executed with high accuracy.
