Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the movement of a lining owing to thermal expansion and prevent the failure of the lining by forming the lining layer of the inside surface of a vessel of a tight lining layer which is joined metallurgically and a loose lining layer having no metallurgical joining.
CONSTITUTION: A tight lining layer 3a which is metallurgically joined to the clad base plate 4a of a unit cylinder 1a is provided to the unit cylinders 1a, 1b by leaving an unlined part of some length l on both sides of the butt weld line A on the inner side thereof. Next, a loose lining layer 3b having no metallurgical joining is formed on the support plate 4b of the cylinder 1b. A short-sized liner 5 is inserted between the fixedly formed tight lining layer 3a and the nonfixedly attached loose lining layer 3b, and both ends P and Q are welded to one body. Thereby, the loose lining layer 3b is fixed, and the extension or contraction in arrow directions based on the difference in thermal expansion is restrained by the layer 3a and the liner 5.
