Abstract

A security door comprises a sheet 1 of a first metal and a sheet profile frame 2 of a second metal which is fixed to the said sheet. The two metals have completely different coefficients of expansion and, as a result of this, if the said sheet 1 and the said sheet profile frame 2 are joined by welding, the weld seam develops cracks, which are detrimental to the strength of the security door. To solve this problem, strips 3 of the first metal are welded onto the rear face of the said sheet 1 and the sheet profile frame 2 is secured to the said strips 3 by means of a mechanical join, for example bolts 5. <IMAGE>
