Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove excess iron ion while suppressing the redissolution of an insoluble cyanoferrate complex salt, by treating a gas-filled liquid with active sludge, reacting the treated liquid with a ferrous salt and then with a ferric salt under respective proper pH conditions, and separating precipitated suspensoids.
CONSTITUTION: A gas-filled liquid 7 is treated in a pretreatment device 1 to separatetar, ammonia, phenol, etc. The liquid is then diluted with diluent water 8 such as sea water, is necessary. Thereafter, the liquid is treated in an active sludge disposer 2. The disposed water is introduced into the first reaction vessel 3. In the vessel 3, the water is adjusted at pH4W6 by the addition of an acid 9, and a ferrous salt 10 is added, agitated and reacted with the water. After the reaction is completed in the vessel 3, the liquid is introduced as such, without separating precipitated cyanoferrate complex salt, into the second reaction vessel 4. In the second reaction vessel 4, the liquid is adjusted at pH6W9 by the addition of an alkali 11, and a ferric salt 12 is added and reacted with the liquid to precipitate suspensoids. Thereafter, a high molecular flocculant 13 is added to the liquid, if necessary. Flocks are formed in a line mixer 5, and separated in a sedimentation pool 6. Consequently, purified water 14 is discharged.
