Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the clogging of a nozzle and to eliminate the degradation in bending characteristics of product, by specifying the degree of superheating after tapping of molten steel, by regulating the composition of the steel by addition of Al after removal of activated slag as much as possible so as to manufacture cast slab comprising specific components.
CONSTITUTION: The degree of superheat of molten steel after tapping is determined as 10W30°C, and the activated slag is removed as much as possible. Then Al is added in order to manufacture cast slab for producing hot rolled steel sheet contg. 0.01W0.25% Si, 0.20W1.50% Mn, and ≤0.005% soluble Al, and the inclusion in the molten steel is converted to corundum system. The addition of Al which satisfies said value of soluble Al is performed ideally by means of a continuous tundish, and by keeping the degree of superheating of the molten steel contained in the tundish surely in the range 30W10°C. Hereby the nozzle is prevented from being clogged, and the degradation in bending characteristics of steel sheet is prevented completely.
