Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate brazing and prevent the lack of braze run by mounting a member which increases heat absorption to a member to a smaller surface area per unit weight out of brazing members in vacuum brazing of target articles of high metallic luster.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of brazing a pipe 2 of a large surface area per unit weight and a connector 3 of a smaller surface area, the screw part 10 of a heat transfer piece 8 wound spirally with platelike heat absorbing fins 9 on the outer side is tightened and mounted to the screw part 4 of the connector 3. When these are charged into a vacuum of decompression brazing furnace and are subjected to vacuum or decompression brazing operation, the fins 9 absorb the radiation heat from the heater and further the heat is transmitted to the piece 8, so that the temp. of the connector 3 is elevated by way of the screw parts 10, 4. As a result, brazing filler metal infilters into the joining parts between the connector 3 and brazing seat 6 as well as the pipe 2, and the sufficient brazing is accomplished. Upon completion of the brazing, the piece 8 is removed from the connector 3.
