NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I [R1 is methyl; R2 is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, -(CH2)mCO2R4 (n is integrer of less than 6; R4 is lower alkyl); R3 is alkyl; A is 0 or S].
USE: Synthetic intermediate of agricultural chemical and medicine.
PREPARATION: A compound of formula II is made to react with chlorine or bromine in an alcohol of R3-OH, when necessary, in the presence of an alkali or the electrolytic oxidation of the compound of formula II is conducted in the above alcohol in the presence of sodium alcoholate of formula: R3ONa to give the compound of formula I.
