Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform discharge after the direct current dielectric resistance test of a power cable in a short period of time without generating an abnormal voltage by performing said discharge through a minute current at a high resistance at first, and then decreasing the resistance value gradually. CONSTITUTION:A resistor 10 to perform discharge has electrodes 12 and 14. Therebetween, inner and outer, double glass tubes 16 and 18 are attached watertightly, and the inside thereof is filled with pure water 20. If the electrodes 12 and 14 are discs of diameter 50-100mm. and the interval therebetween is around 4m, the resistance therebetween is 50-200MOMEGA. Holes 22 are made in both end parts of the inner glass tube 16, and a stirrer 24 (or a circulating pump) is provided therein so that the pure water can be circulated. The numeral 26 indicates a container for a conductive liquid (e.g., salt water). The numeral 28 indicates a water injection port, and the numeral 30 indicates a resistance monitor. The salt water is injected through the holes 22 and spread over the whole by means of the stirrer 24. Thereby, the resistance between the electrodes 12 and 14 can be lowered to several KOMEGA in 2- 3min. Accordingly, discharge can be performed safely in a short period of time.
