Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform the padding of a flash-smelting metal in a desired thickness and shape by a method in which a flash-smelting metal having a high hardness and excellent wear resistance is repeatedly flame-coated and melted on the moving vane mother material of an inductive ventilator.
CONSTITUTION: As the mother material, nickel, inconel, Monel, nichrome, etc., are used, and also as flash-smelting metal, nickel- or cobalt-based alloys containing boron and silicon are used. The leading edge portion of a vane body 31 is subjected to blasting treatment, and then a flash-smelting metal 32 is thinly coated on the leading edge portion by a flame-coating torch 33 in order to prevent it from oxidation. The flash-smelting metal 32 is preheated to approx. 800°C by a preheating burner 34, melted at approx. 1,050W1,100°C by a melting torch 35 provided with a powder supplyer, and then supplied. While continuing the preheating, the supply and melting of the flash-smelting metal are repeated by the melting torch 35 to form a pad 36 of a few layers with desired thickness and shape. After these operations, the pad 36 is slowly cooled and its outside surface is finished by a grinder. Thus, a moving vane having a high hardness and excellent wear resistance can be obtained.
