Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily work a product of high dimensional accuracy by using a mandrel having an inside hole of which the diameter is changed in correspondence to the strain rates of the product position during correcting.
CONSTITUTION: A mandrel 5 has an outside diameter part Da and a forming part 6 which is finished straight. Its inside hole 7 is changed of diameters by providing tapers to the bore of a part (e) and the bores of both end parts (d), (f). Namely, where the rate of strain is large, the diameter of the hole 7 is increased and where it is small, the diameter of the hole 7 is decreased, thereby giving a change in wall thickness. If the correction of sizes is accomplished in this way, the mandrel 5 has a drum-like shape during correcting work, thereby negating the stresses of the product and yielding the product having straight groove parts.
