Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve working efficiency by forming the circular cylindrical pressure chamber to be inserted into the bore of a cylindrical blank material to a broad strip shape and pressing the blank material to restrain the same in the straight part of a die and pulling the blank material from one direction thereby forming bellows.
CONSTITUTION: In a method of forming bellows by exerting pressure from the inner side to part of a cylindrical blank material and projecting the same to the outer side, the pressure chamber 9 of a circular cylinder 2 to be inserted into a blank material 1 is formed to a broad striplike recess. O-rings 4 and backup rings 5 are symmetrically disposed to the top and bottom of the pressure chamber 9. At this time, the upper O-ring 4 is in the position of 1/2 pitch the 1st bellows and the lower O-ring 4 is in the position of the straight part of the die 6. Next, when the pressure liquid is force fed from the hole 8 of the circular cylinder 2 into the pressure chamber 9, the blank material 1 is restrained in the straight line part of the die 6 and the blank material is pulled from one direction, whereby the bellows is formed. From this point on, the cylinder 2 is successively moved until required number of bellows are formed.
