Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the subject device which reduces a difference by steps of a protection layer and to improve a contact property of a heating part, a platen roller, and a heat-sensitive sheet, by a method wherein a thin type electrode, made of copper, silver, or allly whose main components are these metals, is employed. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head consists of a thin type electrode 3', made of copper, silver, or alloy of them, or alloy whose main components are these metals and which contains either one or more of gold, aluminum, nickel, chrome, tin, and zinc, a heating resistance 2', and a protection layer 4'. In the thermal head, the thickness of the electrode 3' can be about 2/3 that of conventional electrodes, and as a result, a difference by steps is reduced, whereby a platen roller 5' and a heat-sensitive sheet 6' make ideal contact with a heating part. EFFECT:As compared with a gold electrode, said electrode can be sharply reduced in a manufacturing cost.
