PURPOSE:To contrive the speeding-up and improving the reliability of pellet bonding by a process wherein inert gas is blown out from the hole of the tip of collet to form an inert gas atmosphere around a pellet and an Au-Si eutectic is generated quickly and stably. CONSTITUTION:A collet 15 adsorbs a pellet 3 on the cavity part 17 to carry it on a heat block 11 while a heated lead frame 5 is conveyed on the heat block 11 and the collet presses the pellet 3 on a gilded part 5a of the lead frame. Thereby a valve 23 is opened to blow off N2 from the hole 19 for making the periphery of the pellet to a full N2 atmosphere with a little quantity of N2. Accordingly, the oxidized impurities are evacuated from the space between the plated surface and the undersurface of the pellet for surely generating an Au-Si eutectic reaction and for quick and stable pellet bonding.
