Abstract
PURPOSE: To inexpensively and efficiently deodorize, and to facilitate the replacement of the deodorant, by installing multiple stages of a deodorant layer unit, by making the number of stages changeable correspondingly to the flow rate of the gas to be treated and the concentration of odorous constituents, by charging a fresh deodorant layer unit into the uppermost stage, and by discharging the old deodorant layer unit from the lowermost stage.
CONSTITUTION: A fermented product obtained by an aerobic fermentation is used as the deodorant which is charged into a deodorant container 4 of a deodorization tank 1 provided internally with an anticompaction plate 8 by a charging conveyer 10 so as to pack the deodorant in the units successively from the lowermost stage C to the uppermost stage A. If a stink gas is sent from a duct 6 to a gas diffusion chamber 3 of each unit, the gas enters the deodorant container 4 through a gas hole provided in a partition 2, and is treated biologically; after that, the gas is introduced through a partition 2 into a gas collection chamber 5. The deodorized gas is discharged through a vent pipe 7 into the air. If the deodorization activity of the fermented product declines, it is discharged by a screw conveyer 13 successively from the lowermost stage C, and a fresh deodorant is charged into the uppermost stage A in order to restore the deodorization activity. The number of stages of the deodorant unit is suitably changed correspondingly to the flow rate of the gas to be treated, etc.
