Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the combustion of adsorbents in a hopper, by withdrawing a part of a temperature controlling fluid to be passed through an adsorbent packed chamber having a hopper shape lower part, from the lower part of the hopper, and next, by discharging a part of the fluid to be treated from the lower part of the hopper.
CONSTITUTION: The annular outer circumference of a cylindrical cage 1 is divided by a radial partition 2 in order to form an adsorbent packed chamber 3; this cylindrical cage 1 is intermittently rotated by a driver 4. A hopper 3a is provided in the lower part of the adsorbent packed chamber 3; when the packed chamber 3 is transferred through an adsorption zone A and a desorption zone B to a cooling zone C, the inner temperature of the packed chamber 3 is detected; if the detected value exceeds a prescribed value, a damper 5 is opened, and a part of the fluid is discharged from the hopper 3a through a pipe 11; next, the damper 5 is closed and a damper 6 is opened for withdrawing a part of the said fluid to the side wall through a pipe 12 and the inside of the hopper 3a.
