Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent gases between zones from mixing by providing pressure equalizing chambers between the zones in a dry type exhaust gas desulfurizing apparatus which is constituted of adsorbing, desorbing and cooling zones.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical rotary cage 1 is rotated at a low speed in a casing 9. Wire mesh is mounted on the inside and outside cylindrical surfaces constituting the cage 1 and an adsorbent 37 for SOx is packed in the annular part constituted of the inside and outside cylindrical surfaces. The industrial exhaust gas contg. SOx enters the casing 9 through its inlet 10 and passes through the layer of the adsorbent 37, whereby the SOx contained therein is adsorbed away. This gas is released as a clean gas from an outlet 11 via an adsorption zone A. The adsorbent 37 having adsorbed the SOx is passed through a preheating zone B, a desorbing zone C and a cooling zone D by the rotation of the cage 1, whereby it is desorbed of the SOx. This gas is again used for SOx adsorption. At this time, pressure equalizing chambers 26W30 are interposed between the respective zones, whereby the mixing of the gases between the zones is prevented, the sealing effect is improved and the desorbing operation of the adsorbent is accomplished perfectly.
