Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the adverse effects of temperature change and ageing drift by applying the signal of an output current detector to the first and the second comparators, comparing them with the first and the second reference signals and controlling the rectifier with higher signal. CONSTITUTION:The output current of a rectifier 3 for a plasma power source or the like is detected by a detector 4, is applied to the first and the second comparators 8, 9, which compare them with the first and the second output current controlling reference signals Es1, Es2 and apply the compared results through diodes D3, D4 to a phase shifter 7, thereby controlling the conduction of the thyristor of the rectifier 3. The output current is maintained constantly at the starting time, is increased in accordance with the soft starting characteristic after the starting, and is thereafter controlled at constant current. Accordingly, it can eliminate the variation in the barrier layer voltages of the diodes D3, D4 due to the variation in the ambient temperature and the variation in the reference signal due to the ageing drift from the starting time, thereby improving the accuracy of the thyristor rectifier 3.
