Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the rise during a change-over between the stereo and monaural modes, by using a means having a prescribed time constant when a change- over is carried out from the stereo mode to the monaural mode and vice versa. CONSTITUTION:For a stereo demodulator of PLL system, the output of a phase comparator 68 is supplied to a differential amplifier 118 via a low pass filter 70. When a forcible change-over signal from stereo to monaural mode is supplied to a stereo-monaural change-over circuit 86, a bias is applied to a terminal 146. Thus a switch 100 is turned on to instantaneously turn a voltage control oscillator 60 into an inactive state. At the same time, the stereo switch circuit is also turned off to prevent the occurrence of a pop noise. The bias is released when the monaural mode is changed to the stereo mode, and accordingly, the oscillator works instantaneously. However, the amplifier 118 is turned on after a lapse of the delay time of the filter 70.
