Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a steel sheet for welded coating steel can which is excellent in weld workability and corrosion resistance after working, by specifying the amount of tin and Fe contained in the Fe-Sn alloy layer coating the steel plate and, at the same time, by converting the alloy into a homogenous alloy and by forming the chemical conversion coating of a specified Cr content on the alloy layer.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of steel plate is coated with a Fe-Sn alloy layer. The tin content of alloy layer is adjusted to 0.05W0.7g/m2, 0.1W0.3g/m2 is desirable, and the alloy layer is uniformly adhered. The whole amount of tin is distributed into the alloy layer so that a homogeneous alloy is obtained. Moreover, the Fe contained in the alloy layer is adjusted so that its atomic ratio becomes 0.5W5mg/ m2. The heating hour is adequately decided by considering the amount of tin and heating temperature. The chemical conversion coating is formed on the alloyed layer, but, in this case, the amount of Cr contained in the chemical conversion coating is adjusted to become 0.5W5mg/m2.
