Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Microvibrators 301 which perform transmission and reception of sound waves are disposed in a large number on curved surfaces 302 hiving curvature R, and the respective vibrators are connected via lines 303 to a switch circuit 304. The circuit 304 selects the vibrators, applies the driving signals from a transmitter- receiver 305 and transfers the received signals to the transmitter-receiver 305. This operation is repeated by laterally sliding the scanner by one pitch or integer times pitches of the microvibrators 301, and in this way ultrasonic beams 307 perform sector-shaped scanning around the imaginary focuses 308 of the respective convex surfaces, thus the composite scanning by plural pieces of the sector- shaped scanning within the object 309 to be exampled is made possible.
