PURPOSE:To increase greatly the maximum frequency limit of the terminal of a balanced modulator having a frequency range from a direct current, by using a balun which provides slit coupling. CONSTITUTION:Conductor 17 connected to the internal circumference of cylindrical hollow metallic case 11 is provided with slits 18 and 19 crossing at right angles. Diode 4 is fitted by being star-connected to vertexes a'-d' of conductor 17 divided into four by slits 18 and 19, and the star-connection point is connected to coaxial connector 13. Plane linear conductors 20 and 21 are provided at prescribed intervals to conductor 17, in parallel to insulating plate 22 and along slits 18 and 19. Thus, the balun with slit coupling is used, so the inductance of the balun is reduced remarkably. Therefore, the high frequency limit of the terminal (connector 13) with a frequency range of a direct current is increased greatly.
